Schneider Electric × WFOND

At WFOND, we believe good design should make everyday life more accessible, independent and meaningful. Our collaboration with the Schneider Electric Volunteer Association (China) put that belief into action through the Adaptive Sewing Kit — a simple tool that helps people who find sewing and clothing repair difficult do it themselves.

WFOND Adaptive Sewing Kit laid out flat — coloured threads, iron-on patches, easy-grip scissors, a seam ripper, a bear-shaped tape measure and a linen drawstring bag, labelled “every stitch brings freedom”.

Designing for inclusion, creating with care

At WFOND, we believe good design should make everyday life more accessible, independent and meaningful. Together with the Schneider Electric Volunteer Association (China), we launched a collaborative project around our Adaptive Sewing Kit — a tool designed to support people who face challenges with sewing and clothing repair, including older adults and people with disabilities.

Rather than offering a traditional gift, Schneider employees were able to donate Adaptive Sewing Kits through the company’s volunteer programme. Each donated kit was delivered to the individuals and organisations where it could have the greatest impact — helping more people regain the confidence to repair, create and live more independently.

Small tools, meaningful change

This collaboration reflects a shared belief that thoughtful design and collective action can create lasting social value. By combining inclusive design with community support, we hope to make creativity and dignity accessible to everyone.

Every piece we make supports our community of makers.
